Met The Legend Of The Storyteller bracht het Franse Avaland een mooi album op de markt. Het was het tweede album van de band die grossiert in mooie fantasyverhalen. Voor het derde album Chemical Poetry dook de band met Joost van den Broek de studio in. Chemical Poetry ligt wel pas op 30 oktober in de winkel, dus je zult nog geduld moeten hebben.
Zanger Adrien zegt hierover: “Working on this album with Joost, we could finally define precisely what AVALAND’s sound is, searching for something very organic, warm, thrilling, but with a more modern approach. He really pushed us to express what AVALAND is through our music, freeing us from some imaginary constraints”
De band werd opgericht in 2020 met de ambitie om meer te zijn dan een band. Met een voorliefde voor de muziek van The Alan Parsons Project, Avantasia, Winger, Savatage en een diepe liefde voor de rock uit de jaren tachtig werd een start gemaakt met muziek dat het beste omschreven kan worden als metal-opera.
Met de single Destiny Calls kun je alvast in de ‘mood’ komen.
Volgens Avaland zelf is de nieuwe single strakke powermetal dat als een echt begin gezien kan worden voor het avontuur van het album. “taking listeners straight into the story. Sharp, heavy riffing collides with sweeping orchestrations and mind‑bending melodies, merging into a true hymnic quest. This new single also welcomes Madie (Ex-Nightmare, Faith In Agony) as the first guest of the era, while Jeff Kanji delivers all lyrics and vocal lines crafted upon Adrien’s compositions — once again elevated by the virtuosity of Lucas, Camille, and Léo.
