Gisteren werd ik toch verrast door het nieuws van Annisokay dat zanger Dave Grunewald per direct niet meer de zanger/voorman van de band is. Zowel van de kant van Annisokay als van Dave Grunewald zelf is dit nieuws openbaar gemaakt. Hoewel beide partijen zeggen dat het ‘vreedzaam’ is gegaan, is het toch op zijn zachtst gezegd wel bijzonder dat Dave, met een aantal shows in het vooruitschiet, geen deel meer uitmaakt van de band.
De metalcoregroep uit Duitsland is de laatste jaren met succes zijn terrein aan het vergroten. Met het album The Devil May Care hadden ze onderdak bij Long Branch Records. Een uitstekend album dat zeker als een sprong voorwaarts gezien mag worden. Daarna verhuisde de band naar Arising Empire en met het album Arms een jaar geleden consolideerde zij hun status in de metalcorewereld.
“Samengevat kunnen we alleen maar concluderen dat Annisokay het vierde album gebruikt om de ontwikkeling te laten horen die de band meemaakt en door het gevarieerde aanbod én de aanstekelijke composities is Arms een uiterst geslaagd album geworden” (Rockportaal)
De band zelf heeft het volgende bericht op hun facebookpagina geplaatst:
“A few days ago Annisokay announced that we’ll move on without our screamer Dave. I know you all have many questions of course so let me give you some answers. First of all, there has been no fight or argument neither any bad blood between Dave und us. It was definitely not an easy decision but it was the only one that felt right for Nico, Norbert and I. When you‘re in a band for many years it‘s possible that someday things don‘t fit anymore and you have to go seperate ways to keep going. Please understand that we can‘t give you more detailed answers to the question „Why?“.
Dave will find his own way and we wish him all the best for all his future plans!
What‘s really important is: Annisokay will keep going! This is the start of a new chapter for the band and we want you all to be a part of it! We will continue doing heavy music and you will be seeing a new face in Annisokay very very soon.

I’m really sorry to announce you that I’m no longer a member of Annisokay. For a couple of years we had an unforgettable time with great experiences and adventures. I feel pretty blessed and thankful to have been part of this path. But now it’s time to close this chapter. And just to make sure: There was no dispute and no hate.
