GRAMMY® Award winnaar, multi-platinum singer-songwriter, acteur en New York Times best-selling schrijver COREY TAYLOR (Slipknot, Stone Sour)brengt ‘Talk Sick’ uit, de single van zijn aanstaande, tweede solo album CMF2.
“That sick guitar at the beginning, I played that through a speaker about the size of a coffee cup. It made it sound violent; you feel like you’re being stung by bees who are playing along to the Sex Pistols” zegt Taylor over het nummer.“There’s an element of spiritual regurgitation, trying to purge yourself of demons that have been clinging to you because of prior relationships, romantic or otherwise. You realize those people bring a certain asshole side out of you that you don’t necessarily want in your life. It’s about trying to lance that boil and get that sickness out of you.”
CMF2 is Taylor’s eerste album voor BMG en het eerste album op zijn eigen label Decibel Cooper Recordings en werd geproduceerd door Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Steel Panther, Amon Amarth), die ook de productie van Stone Sour’s Hydrograd (2017) en CMFT voor zijn rekening nam.
Taylor over de samenwerking: “Together we have great ideas, great energy, and are quick to try everything. We’re not afraid to tell each other if it’s a good idea, or also a bad one; we have that kind of trust. It’s rad.”
Op CMF2 zingt Taylor, speelt lead- en slaggitaar, piano en mandoline.
Het dertien nummers tellende opus bevat de energie, het experiment en de openhartigheid die kenmerkend zijn voor zijn carrière waarin hij meer dan twaalf miljoen albums verkocht met zijn Grammy-winnende band Slipknot en enkele miljoenen met Stone Sour.
CMF2 is de opvolger van Taylor’s solodebuut CMFT uit 2020 met de singles ‘Black Eyes Blue’ en de streaminghit ‘CMFT Must Be Stopped’ (feat. Tech N9ne en Kid Bookie). De LP bereikte nummer 11 in de Britse officiële albumlijst.
24 november staat hij in 013 in het kader fan zijn Europese tour die op 8 november van start gaat.
