De Zwitserse folk-/blackmetalband Morgarten heeft vandaag de nieuwe derde single The Last Breath met een lyricvideo uit doen gaan. De single komt van het nieuwe album Cry Of The Lost, dat op 18 juni wordt uitgebracht door Inner Wound Recordings.
Pierric van Morgarten over de nieuwe single:
“‘The Last Breath’ is one of the first songs we wrote for the album and it’s the first song we ever wrote that features clean vocals. It may not have the aggression or speed of other songs, but it has an intensity that makes it really unique, especially when played live. It is about the moment when the warrior, on the verge of death, realises that he may have spent his life building something that was ultimately meaningless. It’s this situation that we chose to represent on the album cover. ‘The Last Breath’ is also in my opinion one of the songs that Jens Bogren did the most impressive work on, especially the vocal work and some of the effects he added that really bring something to the atmosphere.”
De band zal ook te zien zijn op diverse Europese podia waaronder het Brainstorm festival in Apeldoorn.
Het nieuwe album Cry Of The Loast zal de fans van folk- en blackmetal zeker niet teleurstellen. Het album is gemixt door Jens Bogren (Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth) en het resultaat zal liefhebbers van bands als Ensiferum, Eluveitie en Wind Rose behagen. Met het nieuwe album is Morgarten weer op jacht en klaar om de het Europese muzikale strijdperk te betreden.
