The Mighty Saxon brengt de nieuwe sdingle Medusa uit. Het is de tweede single van het aankomende album Gods Of Thunder.

Het Zweedse Dynazty heeft een deal gesloten met Napalm Records. Het eerste album voor dit ‘nieuwe’ label heet Dark Arts en wordt op 5 maart 2027 uitgebracht.

“We set out with a clear goal when writing Dark Arts. And in the efforts and quest of creating the most all-encompassing and ultimate DYNAZTY experience and album yet, we drove ourselves further than we’ve ever done before, close to the brink of exhaustion and literal madness while touring for Game Of Faces concurrently with writing this one. But I do think that we ultimately clawed our way over the finish line and completed our mission, because to me at least, Dark Arts is the band’s most accomplished work and something we feel genuinely proud of.

Stop met Zagen is de vijfde single van Fleddy Melculy van het nieuwe album L’AVOCAT DU DIABLE.
Online haat is bepaald geen nieuw fenomeen, maar lijkt de afgelopen jaren steeds grotere vormen aan te nemen. Artiesten en andere publieke figuren krijgen op sociale media regelmatig de volle laag vanwege hun uitspraken, standpunten of overtuigingen. Maar minstens zo vaak worden mensen simpelweg het mikpunt van scheldpartijen, beledigingen en persoonlijke aanvallen omdat het online nu eenmaal zo gemakkelijk is. Waarom lijken mensen achter hun toetsenbord vaak een stuk harder en meedogenlozer dan in het dagelijks leven?
Het is een vraag die ook Fleddy Melculy bezighoudt. Het Belgische metalfenomeen kreeg in de afgelopen tien jaar zelf de nodige online bagger over zich heen en schreef er het nummer ‘Stop Met Zagen’ over, dat vandaag als nieuwe single en video verschijnt. Het nummer is afkomstig van het vijfde studioalbum ‘L’AVOCAT DU DIABLE’, dat op vrijdag 30 oktober via Sony Music verschijnt. Hoewel Fleddy Melculy doorgaans grossiert in satire, sarcasme en zelfspot, behoort ‘Stop Met Zagen’ tot de meest serieuze nummers uit het repertoire van de band.
Frontman Jeroen Camerlynck: “Online haat bestaat natuurlijk al heel lang, maar het lijkt de laatste jaren alleen maar erger te worden. Ook wij hebben door de jaren heen onze portie bagger gekregen. Wat ik me telkens weer afvraag, is waarom mensen online zoveel harder zijn dan in het echte leven. Iedereen heeft overal een mening over en voelt blijkbaar de behoefte om die ongefilterd de wereld in te slingeren. Met ‘Stop Met Zagen’ wilden we daar nu eens iets tegenover zetten. Het is een van onze meest serieuze nummers, maar blijkbaar was de noodzaak om dit eens heel hard uit te roepen gewoon te groot.”
Gelijktijdig met de nieuwe single brengt Fleddy Melculy ook een speciale aflevering uit van de eigen podcast ‘HELPOP’, die volledig in het teken staat van online haat. Daarin gaat de band in gesprek met socialmedia-expert Thomas Smolders en Jan Huygens, docent geschiedenis en niet-confessionele zedenleer.
Huygens verdiept zich zowel professioneel als persoonlijk in extreme denkpatronen, radicalisering en haatideologieën.
Samen onderzoeken ze waar online haat vandaan komt, waarom mensen zich er zo gemakkelijk aan overgeven en wat we kunnen doen om deze ontwikkeling tegen te gaan.
